Blue Book on Blue Chairs

During the cold, gray days of December in Illinois, my constant companion is an old blue velvet chair that sits across from me as I read. It is like an elderly member of the family, treasured and admired for its antique poise. One day I pictured my blue chair reading along with me. Its selection was a text on the blue book value of blue chairs. Since then, I have made blue chairs appear in several poses, “Nude Blue Chair Reclining”, “Blue Beach Chair”, “Blue Electric Chair” and more. The Blue Chair series is like most of my art quilts, with festive colors, humorous stories, and a whimsical tilt.
Blue Book on Blue Chairs is a fused art quilt created with hand-dyed and printed cotton fabrics and machine-quilted.
