Yellow Chair
6.5″ W x 9″ H (14.5″ W x16.5″ H framed)
Yellow Chair depicts the first piece of furniture I was given as a child to fix up, a wooden chair with no seat and a coating of gray paint. Spending a summer removing the paint with a pocket knife, I later wove the seat out of bailing twine. My chair has traveled with me from home to home and always reminds me fondly of my first home in Colorado.
Yellow Chair is an improvisational design created with wool fabric and hand-embroidered with cotton threads dyed by the artist.
